Demolition of the Cox’s Shoe Factory is scheduled to commence on the 19th June 2017 to prepare the area for two new developments. McAuliffe Civil Engineering, who are apparently brown field experts, will be carrying out the works on behalf of Adam Waterfield of George Cox Shoes.
McCarthy and Stone are to develop the former industrial site with 45 retirement apartments. The remainder of the site would be redeveloped on behalf of Mr Waterfield, with about 30 open market apartments.
The works will involve the dismantling of the buildings on site followed by re-grading of the site to enable the new build. It is anticipated that the demolition period will be up to 6 weeks with an additional 2-3 weeks for ground preparation.
Local residents who have concerns over the site operations, can contact McAuliffe Head Office on 01902 354400. This number is active 24hrs and has a divert option to a senior manager out of office hours.
